tepepa-original-soundtrack-cd
Tepepa (Original Soundtrack) [CD]

Pentastar Music Verlag is proud to present on CD the original score by Ennio Morricone for the Western movie Tepepa (aka Blood and Guns), directed in 1969 by Giulio Petroni with a screenplay by Franco Solinas and Ivan Della Mea, editing by Eraldo Da Roma, photography by Francisco Marin and starring Tomas Milian, Orson Welles, John Steiner, José Torres, Luciano Casamonica, George Wang, Anna Maria Lanciaprima, Clara Colosimo, Giancarlo Badessi, Rafael Hernández, Vittorio Gigli, Angel Ortiz, Armando Casamonica, Paloma Ciela, Maria Daddi and Paola Natale. The government of "comrade" Madero does not satisfy the peon Tepepa, who continues his battle against the government troops together with a group of faithful fighters, feeling mocked by the ex-revolutionary-come-head of state. Tepepa finds himself several times facing the fearsome Colonel Cascorro and is constantly persecuted by an English doctor, Henry Price, eager to avenge a girl from a wealthy family with whom the doctor was in love and whom Tepepa had raped, driving her to suicide. Cascorro finally manages to wound Tepepa, who had escaped him several times, but in the decisive battle he is killed by the revolutionary. Meanwhile, the doctor, who despite his hatred for Tepepa had remained on the side of the revolutionaries, manages to take revenge on the peon, killing him with a scalpel immediately after extracting the bullet from the wound. Tepepa's death, however, does not mark the end of the revolution, and others will continue the battle in his place. Ennio Morricone composed another remarkable soundtrack for the revolutionary Western genre, creating a solemn theme with a Mexican flavor for Tepepa. The theme returns frequently throughout the film, alternating with a Country-flavored motif for "Tepepa and Price" and suspense music ("Tradimento primo," "Tradimento secondo"). Morricone also wrote a mystical and melancholy theme of poignant beautyfor guitar and orchestra ("A metà strada") and mariachi pieces ("Una rosa," "Ondas de amor"), but the song "To Mexico I would like," performed by Christy's powerful voice, is the heart of the entire soundtrack, a real cry of rebellion of a whole people. In November 2003, I was invited to Strasbourg to attend a Western Film Festival. On the plane, I met the director Giulio Petroni, who had been invited among the guests of honor-a very pleasant, and at the same time, very humble person. He spoke to me of Ennio Morricone with great respect and was particularly satisfied with his music for Tepepa. A private viewing of the film on DVD in the company of Petroni was organized in a small room of the hotel, and in the end, the director was deeply moved, and it was a truly emotional moment. For this CD (total duration 73:21), the stereo masters of the original recording sessions were used, which were approved by Maestro Morricone, allowing us to produce a compact disc that should be included in the collection of every fan of cinema and quality soundtracks.

Tracklist:

Viva la revolucion 4:17

Tepepa e Price 0:54

Tradimento primo 2:14

A metà strada 1:51

Al Messico che vorrei 4:50

Una rosa 1:44

Consegna delle armi 1:16

Una povera casa 1:00

Tradimento secondo 2:52

Viva la revolucion (#1) 5:30

Tepepa e Price (#2) 0:43

Tradimento primo (#2) 1:10

Viva la revolucion (#2) 2:29

Tepepa (marcetta) 1:58

Viva la revolucion (#3) 3:08

Tepepa (tema d'amore) 2:19

Ondas de amor - serenade 3:08

Una rosa (#2) 1:31

Viva la revolucion (#4) 5:36

A metà strada (#2) 1:36

Tepepa (fragrante melodia) 1:26

Viva la revolucion (#5) 1:25

Tradimento primo (#3) 3:41

Viva la revolucion (#6) 4:27

Una rosa (#3) 1:24

Tepepa (banda) 1:53

Viva la revolucion (#7) 3:13

Al Messico che vorrei (karaoke version) 4:43

UPC: 8032539495745
Label: Beat Italy
Release Date: 2.20.26
Format: CD
