Boundaries, who recently announced the July 17 arrival of Yearning: the unbeautiful after (Sumerian Records), have shared a third preview of the 14-track album with the release of “Only endless” and its accompanying video (https://www.youtube.com/
“Much of the record poses questions to listeners, probing if they identify with the sentiment of what’s been said and why they do or don’t,” Matthew McDougal explains. “‘Only endless’ doesn’t ask anything of the listener. It describes a feeling. You can take what you will from it.”
The new track arrives as Boundaries confirm a North American fall tour with Knocked Loose. The band kicks off a European run on June 5 with appearances at Download Festival, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Rock For People, Jera on Air, Impericon Festival, and Vainstream Festival, alongside select dates with The Plot In You, Kublai Khan TX, Bury Tomorrow, Malevolence, and Heriot. Boundaries is also confirmed for spots at Warped Tour in Long Beach, Calif., and Louder Than Life.
The band previously shared two tracks from the forthcoming album: “Death will follow me” and “Skies cast amber black.” The singles have drawn widespread praise, with Revolver describing the new music as “awesomely pissed-off,” Knotfest commenting on the music’s “unrelenting aggression,” and Consequence dubbing it “vicious.”
Recorded in the fall of 2025 with producer Drew Fulk (Knocked Loose, Fit For A King), Yearning: the unbeautiful after captures Boundaries at their most punishing, deliberate, and focused. The 14-track album features guest appearances from The Plot In You’s Landon Tewers (“Crowned and crucified”) and Make Them Suffer (“Torn wide open”).
“With the record, we aimed to be uncompromising and really plant our flag,” McDougal adds. “As more time passes, heavy music continues to lose its teeth. This genre is supposed to be threatening; it should have an edge and make you feel something. We tried to create an album with urgency.”
Album pre-orders (https://sumerian.lnk.to/ytua) and pre-saves are available now, with the collection available on multiple limited edition vinyl variants, CD, and digitally.
