Refund policy
Returns
The following are items that are unable to be returned:
- Clearance items
- Personalized items
- Items marked “Non-Returnable” on the item's page, Portions of bundled items at discounted rates, e.g. "2 for $20" (unless all items in bundle are returned)
- Items that you have already assembled
- Import/Unofficial/Bootleg items
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. We are unable to process refunds on orders after the return period. You have up to 14 days after delivery to inspect your delivery and reach out regarding any damages to your order. After the 14-day period, we are unable to offer refunds on orders.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular-priced items may be refunded, unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are fully damaged and inoperable. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at squatchinthepit@gmail.com and send your item to: Squatch In The Pit, 2082 College Avenue, Elmira Heights NY 14903, United States.
Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.
Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Preorders
When you submit a preorder through our website, we request this stock from our distributor to guarantee your place in line. A few days before the release date, our distributor will let us know how many actual copies we will have available as they may not have received enough to fulfill all orders. At that point, we will ship it to you ourselves, provided we have it. If it is not available, you will receive the option to wait for a restock or to have your order canceled and refunded.
Cancellations
All orders that are canceled are subject to a 4% restocking fee. As we are a small business that has many costs to operate, in addition to our commitments with orders placed with our warehouses, the restocking fee helps to offset what is generally a much larger loss than the fee itself. As is the case with many things in life, a few bad apples ruin the bunch, and as we have almost lost our business due to the outrageous number of cancellations in the past, we no longer allow cancellations.
Cancellations due to over-purchasing items (ie. ordering two copies when they are limited to one copy) with order limits will be subject to a $3 restocking fee per item per order.
In Stock Items
As we are a physical, independent record store, our items are available for customers to handle, touch, flip through, etc. Any order that isn't for an item that is expressly described as a PREORDER may contain slight shelf wear, corner dings, shrink tears, seam splits, etc. As these in-stock items are on our shelves, we can't guarantee these items to be mint. Additionally, we will mark items damaged if they have any significant jacket damage that brings them to a grade of below VG. As thus, we will not be able to offer discounts or exchanges on shipped in-stock items due to jacket damage.
Import/Unofficial/Bootleg Items
Due to the nature of these items, we are unable to offer refunds or returns on these items. Please understand that defects are common with all import/unofficial releases sold anywhere online or at record stores. Unfortunately, these conditions are out of our control and are part of the pressing process.
