Pop-punk band In Her Own Words are set to unveil their newest video for their song, "Footprints," on February 13. The track features vocalist Sierra Annie and can be found on the band's anthem-ridden record Distance Or Decay, released in the Spring of 2022 via Thriller Records.
The song pulls back an emotional layer of vulnerability while adding acoustic dynamics. "Footprints," closes out In Her Own Words' powerhouse of a record, Distance Or Decay, complimenting the overall flow of the record with its honest lyrics and tranquil atmosphere. The song's visual hones in on a raw energy that pulls at fans heartstrings and draws new listeners in.
""Footprints" is a song about the bittersweet end of a meaningful relationship. Bitter in the way that it ended, but sweet in the way that you grow through the duration of it, through the good and bad moments alike." Says lead vocalist Joey Fleming about the song.
Distance Or Decay features an array of tracks that embody graceful yet raspy vocals that lay elegantly against aggressive rock-tones. The record highlights diversity within In Her Own Words' sound as they have evolved throughout their careers. Songs such as "Lights Out" and “Circles” (Featuring State Champs’ Derek DiScanio) provide attention grabbing introductions that gradually string together stand-out hooks keeping listeners entertained for the duration of the record.
"Distance Or Decay is a summation of emotions when going through the motions of an ephemeral relationship; be it friendship, family, or romantic. The first half of the album is the “Distance” portion, touching on feelings of angst, hopelessness, and question." Says lead vocalist, Joey Fleming about the new record.
